Victoria is birding paradise. There are numerous bird sanctuaries, parks, lagoons, and island reserves all with special bird habitats. Parks such as East Sooke are on the flight paths of many migrating birds. Sea birds abound. Great places to go: Whitty's Lagoon in Metchosin, Esquimalt Lagoon in Colwood, Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary, Mystic Vale at UVic, Eagles at Goldstream Provincial Park in the fall during Salmon Runs, and more.
